Our Story Begins Here
❊ About Us
Building a community.
One event at a Time.
The Connection Hub - Where everyone has a place.
The Connection Hub was born from a dream - a long-held vision to create a safe, joyful space where children and adults with disabilities, along with their families and carers, can come together, connect and feel truly supported.
Founded by Jane and Anna, two friends brought together by passion and lived experiences, The Connection Hub started as a simple idea that quickly grew into a mission. Every conversation sparked new possibilities, every meeting brought fresh ideas, and before long the dream became a long-term goal. We began the official process of registering the charity at the end of 2024, turning intention into action.
Our story
Jane has spent over 12 years working as a personal assistant for individuals with disabilities and also fostered an adult with additional needs. Through her work, she has seen first-hand how vital community, support and meaningful connections truly are but sadly seen how often they’re missing.
Anna, a dedicated SEN teacher for the past 25 years, brings deep knowledge, experience and understanding of the diverse needs of children, young people and adults with disabilities. Her insight into family struggles, challenges and triumphs has shaped the heart of The Connection Hub.
Together, and inspired by our own children and families, we saw clearly just how needed a places like this is. Throughout the journey, we have been incredibly fortunate to receive unwavering support from our friends and families. Their encouragement, belief in our vision, and willingness to help in any way they can have strengthened our mission and made this dream feel even more possible.
Our mission
At The Connection Hub, our aim is simple but powerful: to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone has a place.
In the long term, we hope to establish a permanent base - a home where individuals with disabilities, their families and carers can gather regularly in a safe, fun and joyful space.
But our mission begins now by being fully mobile across West Sussex, bringing connection directly to the communities that need it most. Until we have our own base, we’ll be travelling across county to host inclusive events where everyone is welcome.
These events include:
Arts and crafts sessions
Sensory stories and sensory friendly activities
Music events and small gigs
Seasonal activities and themed days
Coffee mornings for carers and families
Workshops
Community meet ups designed for all ages and abilities
Wherever we go, our goal remains the same: to build friendships, spark joy and create moments of connection that makes people feel seen, supported, and part of something meaningful.
Why we exist?
Too many families and carers experience isolation. Too many individuals with disabilities miss out on community moments that should be available to all. We believe that every person deserves connection, joy and a place where they are welcomed exactly as they are.
The Connection Hub is our promise to help make that happen.
